    Hi,
I have been knocking my brains out for the last 2 or 3 days over my desktop computer (Windows Xp), which has been for over the last 2 years operating wirlessly (Linksys Wireless-G PCI Adapter Speedbnooster) when for no apparent reason became problematic...I am now getting the Limited or no connectivity message...When the IP Address on the affected computer started with the problem, it showed 169.xxx...Then it was fe80:xxx and now it's showing a question mark...

Here is what I have done:
    (1) Uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter.
    (2) Did the LSP Fix.
    (3) In the command prompt type: sc query wzcsvc and shows STATE as
    stopped.
    (4) Enable and Dsiabled the wireless zero configuration.
    (5) Checked the Device Manager and "other devices" not showing.
    (6) Checked the Device Manager and the Linksys adapter is listed and not
    showing any problems.
    (7) Under the properties box for the adapter it is showing it as working
    properly.
    (8) Replaced the Linksys card with a Netgear wireless card and that did not
    fix the problem either.
    (9) When I hard wire the desktop in question to the Router (which is a
router supplied by Verizon DSL), the desktop connects to the Internet.

I may have failed to mention a few other minor steps I have takened to try
and remedy this problem even icluding an extensive search on Google and at this time I am unable to find the fix... Also, I have the SP3, so this problem which I have read to be common with SP2 did not appear to be related...As usual any assistance will be greatly appreciated...

You should try turning off your modem for about 5 minutes then turning it back on.

    Hi,
Thank you for your help and even though we can consider this resolved as I disabled the wireless connection and it's now hard wired but for the record, I did shut the router off (a few times) and that did not change the situation. I also did the TCP/IP protocol procedure and reset the Winsock as well and neither one made a difference as well...So since it works hard wired, that's the way it will stay and maybe some where along the line there will be an answer to it...Thank you all.
