when the host printer is turned on, let it boot completely if it still doesn't work, re-install the printer software & if it doesn't have a software, re-isntall the printer.

Is the network wired or wireless?
Are all the pc's running the same operating system or multiple o/s's

in adding a printer to a network

control panel/ devices & printers/ add network printer/ select printer if shown, then click next.
If not shown click 'the printer I want is not listed'/ check 'select a shared printer by name' then type in the dialogue box \\computer name\printer name then click next

try this method if you already haven't? it worked for me I am running a wireless network, & the printer is connected to an XP machine.

if it is a wired network then I feel it would be a hardware issue ie: Port configuration

    regards Jac

I assume that all PCs are running Windows 7, and they are in the same homegroup.

Then, check all PCs from Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Advanced sharing setting, choose Turn on network discovery and Turn on File and printer sharing, and Allow Windos to manage homegroup connections.

If it's not working yet, turn off the firewall and antivirus program and try it again.

Thanks Jacrabbit and IvanH, The network is wireless. I have 4 systems running WIN 7 and 3 on win xp but only windows 7 systems are to share the printer. All of them connect to internet. When i do right click on the printer and click on ''see what is printing, the pending jobs are displayed. though the office is closed now i'll try your suggestions on Monday

For office, you may not want to use Homegroup.

Check if your printer has drivers and software native to Windows 7 (which is unlikely if your printer is 6 months+ old). After printer driver and software installation, check if any updates available. At least run it twice that make sure no updates left. You need to make sure one PC can print on the WiFi printer smoothly before copying the config to another one.
