Resolved Microsoft Discontinuing Onecare

    I received a notice today from Microsoft that they are not renewing subscriptions to Onecare and list other competative software to consider. I have used Onecare successfully and now must make a change. I have windows XP home and need a suggestion of another security software for virus and spyware monitoring.

    you can try MSE(Microsoft Security Essentials)

    it has the same engine with Onecare.

    I am curious why Microsoft didn't suggest it. Maybe also being discontinued.

    I very much doubt that :) It is fairly recent and reccomended as a reasonable performer by several well known gurus on the Internet.

    I use it on one of my secondary computers without issue.

    Hi rondom. I would also recommend installing and running Microsoft Security Essentials. I have used it on all my computers without any issues.
