I work for a small public library system. We currently offer free wireless internet access to our patrons (via wireless DSL router provided by our ISP). We are considering going to a cable ISP in the near future. As our funding is partly dependant on the amount of usage of our services we would like to keep track of the number of connections and their duration. Could anyone reccommend a router or software package that could allow us to do this?

I contacted "Hotspot" and the said their service was geared to charging users and was not applicable for free usage. They make their money by taking a percentage.

    Thanks for responding.
I talked to Hotspot. Their product is designed for pay for access and not suitable for our needs.

    Andrew,

Tony's post wasn't about a particular company. Check some of the other google hits.

To give you an idea you can start with this wiki link

Mia culpa. There was a company named Hotspot Gateway at the top of the search page and thought that was what Tony was refering to. I took a quick perusal at some of the other hits and Wildfire's URL. They seemed more complicated than we where thinking of. What I had in mind a router that could log events or some sort of sniffer software that could moniter the communications.

PS sorry for the double post, I couldn't see the first post 'til after I doubled.
