2 days ago my internet provider had some downtime so I connected my laptop to the neighbour's network (wirelessly).after that when my net was up and running I couldn't connect to the internet wirelessly its connected locally but not to the internet ,I tried to connect the laptop directly to my modem this time I got limited to no activity ...I reset my router still didn't work the main PC (running XP) which is connected wired to the router is working fine no problem with it but its only with my laptop (running vista SP2) cant connect to the internet.
on ipconfig it showed that default gateway was 0.0.0.0 i did the route delete and delete -p [Network destination] mask [Netmask]
    the defualt gateway became like . . . . . . . .
then ipconfig/renew was saying that media disconnected cant do anything while media disconnected.
did the netsh winsock reset catalog
    netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log
    netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log

    the laptop is hp G60
has atheros AR5009 802.11a/g/n WiFi adapter.
and yes the button is turned on.

still same just locally connected not to the internet.

Also, check your IP Address and see if it shows 0.0.0.0.. Also having the Default Gateway showing 0.0.0.0. This is a good indication that the DHCP Service is not running.
Start -> Run. Type in Services.MSC and press OK.

Look at the DHCP Client and make sure it is set to Automatic.
Right Click on it and then choose Properties. Look at the Startup Type.
