I can't ever seem to be able to download clips and movies from the internet. Most will not even play, be they mpeg, avi, ram, etc. I either get an error message about wrong file or in downlaoding I get something like, "login.html file."

I've been told that it is because the files are corrupt or something is wrong with my Windows Media Player.

    Any suggestions?

Try downloading another player like WinAmp and see if it'll work with them. Also are you trying to play streaming media files from the websites, or downloading the files to your hard drive first?

In my experience, Windows Media Player is terrible at streaming media. I can't even get it to work on my PC. I use RealPlayer and QuickTime instead and they work fine.

I'm trying to download to my hard drive most of the time. The crazy thing is once in awhile the download will take. Maybe 10%. The other ninty percent I get the download window with the .html file in it.

Like this morning. I went to another website and the file downloaded fine. Another website I couldn't download.

If you're right clicking and using "save as" , some sites have the link configured where another window has to open first.

Right, aleekat. It these situations if I right click to open the window to download, I get the Windows Media Player and it gives me an error message. Should I change the default player to something else?
