Whenever I use Windows Media Player on my new computer, the screen is all glitchy. I mean, I can still see most of the movie but the glitchy screen is still a problem. I was wondering what could have caused this and what I could do about it. Any help would be greatly appeciated.

You need to be more specific.
Screen breaking up into sections may be due to your screen settings. A jerky picture where the picture keeps stoping and starting can be due to a slow internet connection or a bad off air HDTV signal. Is this happening when you watch DVD's, movies from your harddrive, movies off the internett??

It's hard to explain. It's best if you can see This Picture to see what I mean. I mainly use it to play DVDs but any movie played on WMP will glitch up like that.

Yes there are like 3 or four of them and they always come up whenever I use WMP. I'm wondering what I can do to stop that.

Appears to be a video card issue (get lastest drivers).

I'm still a novice at computer lingo but I am willing to learn as much as I can (or need to anyway). What exactly are "drivers "? How can I be sure if it's an issue with the video card and would this be something I would need to buy and have installed?

If have the Inspiron 560MT with the Intel video, there's an "urgent" driver update from Dell. Download and install it.

If have the Inspiron 560ST with Intel video there's also an Dell recommended as "urgent" driver update. Download and install it.

I do. I have an external DVD drive as well as the internal one. I downloaded VLC Media Player and that works perfectly without any glitches so I made that my default player. Windows Media Player and Windows Classic is still glitchy though.
