First I apologize if this is in the wrong spot but I'm not really sure where it belongs.

My daughter used my husbands computer the other night to check her myspace page and now for some strange reason when I try to load Firefox I can't see it but it is apparently connected to the internet because when I go to shut the computer down it asks me if I want to close Firefox.

I tried to do a system restore to before she used it but it won't let me. I have tried all the different restore points with no luck. I have run Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware and nothing was found. It has never done this before and I am lost as to what to do. Oh yeah he is running WindowsXP.

    Thanks guys...

Okay read about going into safe mode to use system restore and that worked so I restored it and now he has Firefox back but now there is a new problem

Whenever we try to sign in to a gmail account it causes Firefox to crash. That is also a new problem that has never happened before. Any ideas on how to fix that?

1.Do you know where Firefox should be located? I am assuming that you click on the shortcut and nothing appears on the monitor. Anything in the Quick Launch toolbar, i.e. next to the clock?
    2. In your system Firefox should in this path: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox, and the shortcut should be "firefox.exe ". Also, if you do Ctrl+Alt+Del, the Windows Task Manager should come up, and there should be a Firefox in the application tab. In addition, Firefox is driven by its profile which is located in: C:\Documents and Settings\user_name(the computer registered to)\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxx.default
The profile is hidden, by default, but can be "unhidden ".
These should be the first things to do. Then, perhaps, create a new profile. I have never used system restore, and would not rely on it.
I did not see your response, when I started. I don't have Gmail, and if that's the only thing which makes it crash, I would not fret, at this point. Check your settings. That's why I do not like system restore.
