No Daizy you are not reading a different post.

:) You are still on the same Planet. :)

We are all looking at the same end. Getting more disk space.

Just different ideas on how to do it.

Other than changing the OS I like the idea of a 2nd HD by far the best. Leave just the OS on C: and put all other stuff elsewhere I believe would make thing mucho better.

Even changing to SE and with everything on one drive it would still be cutting things pretty close for a good solid & smooth operation.

Oh BTW. I lost a couple of replys earlier also. But that I believe may due to some JERKS pulling DOS attacks on some of the servers around the World. I could not even get to this BB ( and some other sites ) earlier. ( on either machine ). The first thing that I do if I have problems with the Internet on this machine is to check with one of the others. That usually ( but not always ) rules out a problem on here.

It's not your work space if you can not even download "belarc "!

IMHO all has been suggested that should work for you provided you have indeed tried them?

Say what ya want ME is outa here & everyone but a few agree. You will NOT be able to run winxp H or P with your system so that leaves win98 fe or se. If you are comfy working inside the box consider more Ram & bigger hard drive. Ram for box is very cheap. "128MB PC-100 INDUSTRY STANDARD, LOW DENSITY COMPATIBLE WITH ALL MAINBOARD"

And by Win98 Second Edition Upgrade still being available in stores should tell us something.

I got my copy of SE just a couple of weeks ago in Wal Mart.

Thank you, all of you, for trying to help. I agree that since I have Me, I should stick with it until I buy a new computer, which will be next year.

Daisy, do you know how I remove restore points? Help doesn't mention removing them.

I'm in the process of trying to learn how to make my pictures smaller with an image program without having to rescan them.

The suggestion of buying another hard drive is a good one, too, but I'm reluctant since I plan to buy a new computer soon.

You could always buy a 40 or 60 Gig harddrive now & next year when you are ready for a new computer then just build one and use that harddrive. Another idea is buying a used hard drive but they cost near as much as a new one.

Daisy, thank you. I've disabled System REstore, and I'm now up to 1.12 GB free.

BillyBob, I'm trying to learn how to use MS Image to resize my photos. What do you mean by "vertical size of 200.? "

I'm going now to learn something about the swap file you mentioned. Boy, you guys are great! thank you so much for your help.

I take it you have now gotten rid of the " Low disk space error. "

    If so that is great.

As to picture sizing. I see you are using MS Image so I have no real idea how you would go about this. I use as little MS software as possible. But I would venture a guess that someone around here does know how to use that program.

Some where in your program there should ( or may be ) be a choice to RESIZE the picture.

I believe if it says 400 vertical, 800 horizontal that is referring to PIXELS. And the file size might be ( guessing ) 75K.

If you change the vertical to 200, the horizontal should change to 400. In my program there is a selection the maintain the relationship. Now the file size might be only 30K.

File sizes are only for converstaion only But I know there as a defffinte size reduction.

Also by using a constant vertical size it helps a lot with spacing.

Now, Please be forwarned. This a case where I can do it but find it hard to tell you how.

Thank you, BillyBob, for the help with Image.
And thank you, everyone, for your help, as well. Between the lot of you, I got my "Low disk" problem solved --- for the time being, anyway.
