I just built a new system. The case I'm using is a Raidmax ATX1072BP. It came with a 380W power supply. When I plugged it in, there was no sign of power to anything. I checked the line cord; 120 V as usual. A meter on the wires going to the mobo indicated no voltage. I figured I got a bad power supply, so I took it back to the store and got a replacement. This one I tested before plugging anything into the mobo. No fan, no output. Is it possible that these things are so cheesy that I got two in a row that don't work, or am I overlooking something?

    Yes. It's quite possible.

It's also more than likely that 380W is not enough power for your needs.

Thank you for your response. It turns out that one of the connections was not making contact. At least partly my fault. I'm still not happy with the way the connections fit. I intend to replace it asap.

Thank you. I'll check your links. I'm not comfortable running the one I have.
