Stable (final) version of any such programs have not been available, for long time. Not sure why, because I used to start with unzipped version, till I was convinced that it was worth installing. But, considering that a normal user would not know how to handle the unzipped files, they stopped making them available. Zip files of the experimental "nightlies" are, still, available, and I am using them, all the time. e.g: I am using the 2.0.3 nightly, which I update every five days. There is, also a 2.1a nightly.

The zip form of SeaMonkey are still being made.
Here is the location of 2.0.3
    http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/seamonkey/releases/2.0.3/
However, when I attempted to install it as I had the others, I encountered a problem with the profile. It seems that the profiles are now in a slightly different format and I had no idea how to get 2.0.3 to access my old profile.
Has anyone dealt with this problem?
    Thanks.

If you decide to use the .exe installer, does that deal with this problem?

I would be interested in knowing the answer also. I keep receiving the updates are available message, but after doing it once I did a restore and didn't proceed again.

I lost my profiles as you stated and was confused as I didn't have that problem with other updates. There doesn't (at least didn't) seem to be any clear explanation of the steps required to move/import or get the profiles and mail/bookmarks to show up.

I did not see this thread till now, but I have the answer. With SM2.x the format is somewhat like that of Firefox, with profiles like xxxxxx.default, un like the old way, i.e. xxxxxx.slt. So, the old profiles are not usable in the new SM. Personally, since I started using SM2.x even before it came out officially, a profile was created, and I used it. I imported or copied some stuff from the old profile, but, I quite trying to do anything with the old. I would assume that it is possible to import info from the old to the new format, when the SM2.x is first set up, but this may be only a case with the .exe installer.
But, I have everything I need, and I, still, use the nightlies, updated every five days.
The profile is located in this path, in WinXP: C:\Documents and Settings\Fulvio Perini\Application Data\Mozilla\SeaMonkey\Profiles.

    OK Gloria.
This is how I installed SM2.0.3 and transferred the profile from SM1.1.16.
    1. First I created a folder under program files named "Seamonkey2.0.3
    2. I unzipped the zip file for 2.0.3 and dumped it into the folder Seamonkey2.0.3. The location of the zip file is discussed in a previous post in this thread.
    3. At this point I started Seamonkey 2.0.3, with all previous versions being closed and with the automatic loading of those previous versions turned off.
    4. When I did this I did not get an option to migrate nor did I see the Import Wizard.
    5. I shut down SM2.0.3 and looked in Windows Explorer (WE) at the structure of the SM2.0.3 folder.
    6. This is what I see:
    Program Files/Seamonkey2.0.3/Seamonkey/Seamonkey.exe
    7. At this point to start the import wizard, go to Start->Run and type in the following
    "C:\Program Files\Seamonkey2.0.3\Seamonkey\Seamonkey.exe -p "new profile name" -migration
    8. Note there is one space before and after -p and a space before -migration.
If you now hit run, the Import Wizard will open
If the structure of your 2.0.3 folders are different than mine, just adjust the command in the run line so you end up with the same info after the Seamonkey.exe portion.
The new profile name is supplied by you.
    I hope this helps.
If you used the installer version of 2.0.3 rather than the zip file, I am not sure how to proceed. What I mentioned above is likely to work but I can not guarantee it.
    Good luck.
    Bob

BTW, this version seems much faster that what I had, especially the browser portion.

    Thanks Bob.

I'll try it this weekend when I have time to play with it. I guess the best is still to create a restore point before trying it and perhaps also to do a copy of the existing mozilla profiles.

Question: If you have more than one profile (profile name, email and bookmarks) how do you import them.

I used to just with the old seamonkey from netscape or other transfers create the same profile names and then I would rename them with "1" or old (I can't recall exactly, but have notes) then when you copy the profile into the profile files the old information files were there and you could delete the "new" profile.

    Hmm,,,,,,,,

I only had one profile which has been accumulating email for years.
If there is more than one profile, you may have to point to the one you want imported. Sorry I can not help you with this because my experience is limited. Good luck.
