    Hello,

I am hoping someone can help me with this problem. I am using the Gigabyte 8IEXP motherboard and would like to use the onboard RAID controller n Win XP as the OS. However I do not know how to go about doing it. Could someone point me to any resource that can guide me with it.

I tried searching but mostly the articles were either reviews or Linux/server products

    Thank you.

    Yours sincerely,
    Shirlyn

    Hi,

I can't look over your shoulder and point to it but there really must be a write-up in the motherboard manual all about RAID. Windows XP doesn't really worry about RAID. All it "sees" is a hard drive. There is a setup program that tells the RAID controller what to do with those drives attached to it.

    Good Luck

There is just a short statement to have the drivers copied to a floppy for the installation of Win XP.

Are there any other settings for RAID tt I should look out for? What I would like to find is a resource which I can refer to, but something tt is not too technical in nature or relates only to servers n linux.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I erred and you were right. I just downloaded the user's and technical manuals for your MB and there is precious little info about RAID.

As a way of making amends, try this link. It doesn't seem overly technical and is not commercially biased.

    http://www.acnc.com/raid.html

    Good Luck (again)
