    I have the latest version of Firefox and would like to know if it's possible to create a favorites link as google provides. A friend tells me it's a more secure and faster than Google?:):)

    Hi Gordon,

    I'm not sure if I've understood your question properly but if you want a local page (on your system) with your bookmarks (IE speak, favourites) then try

    Bookmarks->Organise Bookmarks->Import and Backup->Export HTML

    Save the file wherever you want and optionally set that as your homepage.

    If that's not what you're looking for please clarify your question.

    I am not sure that I, fully, understand the original question, nor the answer.
    As for the original question, I see an interest in getting the (IE) Favorites. Also, there is a question about greater security and speed of Firefox vs. Google (Chrome).
    It is unclear to me, if "favorites" is another word for "Bookmarks ", or the real IE Favorites are meant. If the latter is a case, one has to start from IE, and I have had all the IE Favorites in the Firefox bookmark file, for long time.
    If a display of the FF favorites is desired, there is the Bookmark Toolbar, and, as "wildfire" said, one can select a homepage (or homegroup of tabs) in Tools|Options|Main|Startup.
    I will start with the second, i.e security and speed. Google Chrome is the new kid in the block, so not as much is known about it as Firefox. I have both browsers, and Google Chrome seems to be faster than Firefox, but having had Firefox since it first became available, I know that I have accumulated a lot of foot-dragging junk.
    As for the reply, I don't understand it, if it refers to Firefox. Why "Export HTML" which exports the existing bookmarks from Firefox to a safe place (for backup, or later use)?

    As I understood it Westside, Gordon was asking for a HTML page with his bookmarks/favourites on it. I could be wrong though as the question is ambiguous.

    My reply was concentrating on creating such a page, which could be opened in any browser.

    The more I look at the original question, the less I understand was Gordon asked.
    Your reply is correct, if you have a set up Firefox, and you wish to use its bookmarks (favorites) in another browser.

    Would you mind telling us what you were going to do with the file(s)?
