    I'm using XP/IE6.

The time synch with time.windows.com only takes place about once a week.

How can I increase the frequency of updates to hourly or at least daily?

    Two ways,

    1) Edit the registry see here for details, obviously back up your registry beforehand.

    2) Download a tool to do the job, again this tool messes with the registry so back it up.

Please read this Microsofts KB article How to back up and restore the registry in Windows XP

Perhaps you should be considering why you need to update so much, is your time drifting a lot daily?

    EDIT:

BTW IE6 is far from secure, consider updating to IE8 or switching to another browser.
