Resolved Removing McAfee for a lighter antivirus

Hello,

I'm using DELL Inspiron 1545, Intel Core 2 Due T64 @ 2 GHz, RAM 3 GB.
I got a one year subscription of McAfee Security Center with my laptop when I bought it about 5 months ago. I'm not too comfortable with McAfee, it uses up a lot of system resources, and isn't very effective. The updates are painfully slow, so I've been thinking of switching over to a lighter antivirus. Maybe AVAST, or Avira?

I was reading through the net, and it turns out that people have a lot of problem uninstalling McAfee, and I remember reading somewhere that you need to download an Uninstaller from the McAfee website to remove it completely. I tried looking for it right now and couldn't find it. It'd be great if someone could tell me exactly how to McAfee Security Center completely?

Which free AV should I install after that, AVAST or Avira? or AVG?

I'm also currenty using Malware Bytes Anti-Malware. However, I'm a little concerned that an AV and MBAM might not provide total security. What else will I need to guarantee complete security from viruses, spyware, and ensure safe browsing?

 

I forgot to mention that I'm also using the McAfee Site Advisor.

Removed McAfee, replaced it with Avast, and it's working well!
