Resolved 4gb san disk u3 cruzer & 98SE

I am working on a project and tried to carry some files to my 98se
machine from my xp-sp-3

I found out quick that 98se does not support u3 flash drives. Mine is a 4 gb
San Disk SDCZ6-4096RB.

Googled it and found people that used workarounds, but the links they
use to get the drivers were no longer there.

I take it can be done, but I scoured Google to no avail. All posts to
do this were 4-5 years old and the pages with the drivers they said would
work were gone.

When I plug it in I get the install Wizard and go through it. Choose browse> hard disk> manufacture suddisk as it was called in those days but the is no driver there for mine, I click on the others and they did not work. Wizzard said to try again. San Disk says they do not support 98SE on their site.

Gary it is available on driverguide but skipping past the ads is annoying, you may want to set up a free account.

 

I can burn cd's dvd's. do not have a different flashdrive that will work with 98SE

Gary, If you send me a private message with your email address I'll send the one I downloaded from driverguide to you.

I haven't tested it as my 98 box is out of order but others have said it works fine.

 

Thank you Wildfire, driverguide worked great, thank you too for the nusb31e.exe That did the trick. My 98 SE machine is now seeing the san disk cruzer just fine.
