    Hi,

I've just bought a brand new 10.1" netbook by Sony Vaio. It looks and is brilliant but I've discovered one stuck pixel on the screen, being best visible when the desktop background is set to black. It's not in the center of the screen, though.
Would you recommend that I have it replaced? I'm curious, because I don't know whether is quite normal or I just had bad luck.

I forgot to mention that I have tried some software claiming that it could help get rid of stuck pixels. But this hasn't helped at all, so far.

If brand new take it back. Note, warranties re screens usually have specific clauses about dead pixels, most such warranties allow for x number of dead pixels to be expected.

Yes, I got it only yesterday. In my country there's a law stating that you are allowed to sent back any unseen items purchased over the Internet within 10 days. They mustn't be altered, however you are free to test them for yourself to see if you like them.
I guess, I'll have it replaced but I wonder if it isn't quite common that a stuck pixel could occur.

    ralfska,

Both my laptop and external display have zero stuck/dead pixels and I've seen a few LCD's and can only recall one situation where a group of dead pixels were annoying.

It's not as common nowadays so send it back for replacement or refund, as it's mail order like you say you don't even need to offer a reason for refund.
