Resolved Newly built PC Issue - Power??

    :)Problem solved - it was the motherboard. I was able to exchange it for a same model and the installation went without a hitch. Right now it's installing Windows with no problems. Once again, than you for the recommendations and support.

    Hi fsiaca, you say you took out your CPU and checked. There is no mention whether you had heat sink paste between the CPU and the heatsink? You said your CPU LED came on which is a warning of overheat. I'm throwing this in as it's quite easy to overlook the obvious at times. All pins in your connectors making good contact - none bent or damaged? Neil.

    Hi retiredlearner (like the name) - yes, I did use heatsink paste between the CPU and the MB. I I did resolve the problem (see my last post) by returning the MB and getting a another one (same model). I can only conclude that the MB was defective - I really have no other explanation. Thanks for the response.
