    Hello,

Would be grateful if someone could advise me regarding the issue I have now.

    Here's my scenario,
Let say my company domain is e.g. abc.com and my email address is chris@abc.com. I have an local Exchange 2007 mail server residing in my organisation (ABC). Just recently, my company acquired another company - XYZ. This new company domain is XYZ.com.

Management decide since 2 organisations have merged, they want to stick with a new email address for everyone - @abc-xyz.com. Hence, my email address will change to chris@abc-xyz.com from chris@abc.com formerly.

Can you please advise what are the process or steps I need to do for this changes to be happen? MX record, DNS, etc ?? Nevertheless, I still want email send to my old address routed to the new address thereafter.

    Please help.
    Many thanks!!

    Hello Xlidez.

    Here are my suggestions:

    1) add a new MX record for abc-xyz.com to your DNS

    2) add a new domain name (abc-xyz.com) to the list of "E-mail Addresses Policy" in "Recipients-Recipient Policies - Default Policy" (at least this path is correct for Exh2000/20003), so your exchange organization would be able to receive mail for both e-mail domains.

    3) select one of the two e-mail domains (I think it'd be the new "abc-xyz.com ") as Primary address (this address would appear in "Mail from" field).

With this configuration mail sent to chris@abc.com or chris@abc-xyz.com will be delivered to the same mailbox.

Wow that question sounded as though it was just out of a book!

Just as a wild guess of non comprehensible mixture of words.
I think may even include the same email address example ironically

Are you by chance a student learning this area? Because there is quite a lot to know to get to Administrative ability.

If MichaelF reply above has solved the issue for you, please mark the thread as resolved. Will you be replying back?

Excuse me kimsland, but I think xlidez came to this forum for a help and it's not a good idea to talk over his administrative abilities.
