    In Internet Explorer, above the adress bar there is standars buttons.

    Well, one has appeared (i dunno what it is, maybe from a prievious installation?) and i want to completely delete it.
    If I right click, and go to customise, and take the button away. It goes but is still there (in the avaliable buttons bit) How do I completely get rid of it?

    Thank you for any help

    My guess would be to totally uninstall whatever program the icon refers to?

    What is the button? To what does it relate?

    Here's what works for me in XP with IE6. Your mileage may vary.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{E023F504-0C5A-4750-A1E7-A9046DEA8A21}

    This seems to be where any new keys are added to the default group. I managed to delete the MoneySide button from the available selection by removing that key. I left the Extensions key although it is now empty except for the default string.

    I'm fairy certain that this method will only work on any buttons that have been added by some new software install. I think the default buttons are hard coded and written in stone.
