    Hi Paul,
Yes, I believe that superflous would have been more appropriate. I do appreciate that you did apologize to Antony. He is a fair person, and doubt that he was "hurt" but as the posting rules state:

    http://www.windowsbbs.com/rules.php

    9. Irrelevant and/or Inflammatory Postings - While we certainly don't discourage productive and useful debate relating to a particular topic at issue, posts that are made in a nonproductive or inflammatory manner are not permitted.

By typing Antony's name in all cap's, and telling him his advise was "dumb ", I certainly felt the post was nonproductive.

Nutscrape, Internet Exploder, etc., are used in jest, and not intended to offend, nor is offense taken.

Let's move ahead now, and see if there is a solution for you.

    Paul,

Risking redundancy, I believe this is the information that does apply to what you wish to do with per site cookies:

    Managing Cookies Site-By-Site

To control cookies on a site-by-site basis:

    1. Open the Tasks menu, choose Privacy & Security, and then choose Cookie Manager.

    2. Choose "Unblock Cookies from this Site" or "Block Cookies from this Site. "

When you are warned (while browsing) that a web site is requesting to set a cookie, you can click Yes to allow or No to deny the cookie. You can also select the option for your browser to "Remember this decision. "

If you select "Remember this decision," you will not be warned the next time that site tries to set or modify a cookie, and your "yes" or "no" response will still be in effect.

If you wish to change a remembered response later, use Cookie Manager to edit your list of automatically stored cookies.

To stop automatically accepting cookies from a site:

    1. Open the Tasks menu, choose Privacy & Security, then choose Cookie Manager.
    2. Choose View Stored Cookies from the submenu. The Cookie Manager window opens with a list of all the cookies stored on your computer.
    3. Click the Cookie Sites tab. The web sites for which you have allowed or denied cookies are listed.
    4. Click to select the site from which you no longer want to accept cookies, and then click Remove Cookie. The next time you visit that site, you will be warned if the site attempts to set a cookie.
    ---

I'd like this Moz 1.1 or NS 7 app/menu item to allow me to accept cookies when I want to reply to messages here, or to select it to not accept cookies if I'm just browsing the board.

The above does explain how to accomplish what you wish to do.

As it is now, it's a multistep pain to go to the refs-security-cookies-change button each time.

Although inconvenient, these are the options for setting up your site-by-site cookies. There might be a third party program that will do what you wish, but I haven't found it yet.

    Hi Paul,

PCWorld lists the Top 5 Cookie Managers. Note that Cookie Pal does have a popup window, which may be the convenience you are seeking...

    Cookie Pal:
Not all cookies are mouthwatering. This program lets you decide which ones to accept and which to reject. Set the program for automatic rejection or acceptance, or have it trigger a pop-up window that gives you the choice each time a cookie is offered. You can also set it so that all sites' cookies are treated equally, or specify that some are automatically accepted and others automatically rejected. This program works with Netscape Navigator, Microsoft Internet Explorer, AOL, and other software.
