My Windows Explorer menu is gone and I can't figure out how to get it back. I've tried all the usual key strokes and right clicking. The only thing that shows at the top of the page is the blue bar. Nobody I've talked to seems to know how to get it back.

    Hi Tkmobley, and welcome.

That's odd. I'll assume you don't even have the usual FILE EDIT VIEW selections at the top either, is that correct?

Try slowly moving the mouse cursor vertically across the top area of your screen to see if a double arrow symbol appears. If it does, left click while it is showing and drag the divider line downward. That may work.

If not you will likely have to reinstall the IE browser since it shares some dll's with Windows Explorer that could cause this. When and if you do reinstall, be sure to select to "Replace All Files" when asked.

    Good luck.

Thanks, I've tried all the simple fixes, I think it's reinstall time.

Have a look at this thread. I'm not sure whether the keys are the same in 2K, but it might give you some ideas as to what to look for. Don't try using the Repair Tool to which I linked though!

    Good luck!

because windows explorer and msie are so closely tied, have you tried the ie repair tool?

check in add/remove programs, highlight ie, click on change/remove, and the repair tool should show itself.
