IE and Windows 2000

Yes, our server is still running Windows 2000 SP4, and it currently has IE6 installed. For its better security aspects, are IE7 and W2000 compatible or do I need to stick with IE6?

Minimum system requirements for Internet Explorer 7 do not include Windows 2000
