    Hello again Everyone!

Sorry to keep coming back, but I have got some serious issues with Windows 7.

Having "Upgraded from XP to W.7, I find that many of my programmes will no longer work.
(For example my Logitech wireless optical keyboard only types letters and the hotkeys and F keys will not work - Logitech has stated that there is a compatibility issue and there is no solution. Likewise with my Sony Ericsson PC Suite Synch Station, my mobile is not recognised and I can no longer back-up data or download pictures etc )

Those are unsolvable - good old microsoft!- This next problem involves my Nikon Quicktime camera.

The computer recognises it. The dropdown list appears with choices and, having now tried all of them, the photographs are not recognised. I am unable to download them to any location because they are "Not There "!!

I have two CDs of Nikon entitled "Picture Project 1.5, one is for the reference manual. I have run them both and still no success.

I would be grateful for any input to try to overcome this problem - or maybe this is going to be yet another failed item and I will then only be able to use this fabulous Windows 7 system to send emails and browse the internet - if that happens, I will go back to XP, there is absolutely no future in having an operating system that is completely incompatible with my programmes, and as I am now well past my sell-by date, I will definitely not be in the business of renewing those programmes by purchasing alternatives!

    Regards

    Colin

Truth be told, you have no problem with Windows 7, you have problems with hardware. Unfortunately, and though it sounds like an excuse for Win 7, that's the way it is. The isssues are not caused by Windows 7, they are the result of hardware manufacturers not yet creating drivers and software that meet Win 7 compatability standards.

In the meantime, go out and get a 10 dollar usb card reader. Plug it into Windows 7, plugin the camera card and get you pictures off it that way. This is the preferred method of downloading images from camera anyway.

Images will download faster and there's no drain on the camera battery.

Nikon Picture Project at Windows 7 Compatability

    Pete C and Tony T,

Thank you both for your advice.

I wrote to Nikon at the same time as BBS with the idea that more irons in the fire get results quicker. No offence intended or implied here.

I received a reply that has solved the problem and I would like to repeat it here in the hope that it may assist others with this same problem.

Go into the Menu and under Set Up/Interface/USB there are two choices PTP & Mass Storage, choose Mass Storage and exit from the Menu.

The pictures will now download to the PC. (Mine did!)

    Hope this is of assistance

    Colin :)
