I ordered Microsoft Office, thinking I was getting a disk, come to find out I have to download and burn to a CD. I know absolutely nothing about burning CDS, I mean nothing. I need someone who would be willing to walk me through the process at the preschool level. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop wireless with DSLand Windows media center. Vista is my os. Is there any one willing to take on this task and work with me?

Do you have a cd burner?

Did you get the download from one of those scam/rip off sites? Or do you have a TechNet subscription?

Steve, I ordered it from Microsoft ,also have Nero. Have decided to use Windows 7 instead of Vista.

Evan , you know that I have an IQ of 50 but I read your resource and was thoughly confused/ I don't know why I have such a problem with burning CDS except I have no interest
I may have a mental thing because I stress every time I attempt to. I may have to get some one to do it for me and then I'll never learn.
    Thanks guys,
    Dee

Well, I'm assuming you got it from http://store.microsoft.com/home.aspx ?

You can always choose Ship it OR Download it...

Now, if you did download it, what's the file name? I (again) will assume it is *.ISO.

It's very simple. Open Nero, and from the menu choose Recorder > Burn image. Browse to the location of the ISO file and select the ISO file you want to burn to CD/DVD. Check the option Finalize (No further writing possible!), then click Burn.

Arie, this is another project I got involved in with my husband after vowing I won't do it again. After looking into myself I can order a DVD and that's exactly what I'm going to do. Thanks all for your help, dont know what I would do without you.

Well good luck with ordering the DVD. Hopefully when you do install Microsoft Office you won't run into any problems.

Oh, Evan my balloon has busted. I had to download and order the disk with in a certain time frame and I did neither. Microsoft did send me the download and it installed without a hitch. The computer I put it on has Nero and I've been told that is easy is to use so I'll try it. Wish me luck.

Thats good news. Nero should be fairly simple to use even for a novice user like yourself. ;)

It's not compatible with my OS. I have Power DVD which is also not compatible.I'm going have to put this to bed for tonight. I have other fish to fry. I can't access my work email and no audio on youtube. I can't enjoy my computer for working on it.

Well, if you're using Windows 7 you can just use Win 7's built in software. Put a CD or DVD in the drive. If the autorun window pops up, close it. Then, in windows explorer, browse to the iso file. Right click on it and in the menu choose "Open with" and then choose "Windows Disc Image Burner ". In the window that opens, click the burn button. That's all there is to it.

Well, if you have another burning program installed, it may be that it disabled the native Windows software. Did you get an error message of any sort? Was the option to burn it available in the menu when you right clicked on it?

Never found the iso file or image burner. It seems nothing happened as your instructions indicated. I am going to have to have help with this.
