I have a Toshiba laptop which will connect to my neighbors unsecured router (with permission), but not to the Linksys router I just installed on my desktop pc. Just keeps saying "validating identity "

    ?????

What's the neighbor's wireless network (ssid) called? If his is called Linksys, then your comp is trying to connect to your router using his remembered connection. Change the ssid of your Linksys to something unique.

    What OS?
And are you using the Windows Wireless Utility or Toshiba?
