I recently upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. I was running Outlook Express on Vista (don't remember what version). OE is apparently no longer available on Win 7, so I'm now using Windows Live Mail. Aside from numerous other annoying issues, Live Mail won't display my contacts properly. When I upgraded to Win 7, my OE address book was converted to a Windows contacts list, which appeared within my windows identity directory (just like magic!!). All the info for each contact appears to have been imported correctly, but when I open contacts in Live Mail, the email address for each contact is the only info that shows up, and it appears in the name field in addition to the email field. So it is impossible to search contacts within Live Mail by name - I have to know the email address of anyone I want to send a message. In general I think Live Mail ***** and I'm considering dumping it, but if I can fix this problem I might just be motivated to work on the others.

In Vista you used Windows Mail and not OE;)

What happens when you edit a contact and move the address to the address field and then type their name in the name field?

You're right, it was Windows Mail.

When I edit a contact, the edits stick for that contact. The problem I have is that none of the contact names are in the Live Mail address book. They show up correctly in the Windows address book.
