    Installed a new HP system with windows 7, all seems to have gone well. I have 2 problems with email addresses.

    1. A known good address gives a unable to deliver message when using windows live address book. This is the only address with this problem, all others work. This address worked with old system. I can open my local ISP's web mail and us it and it works as expected.

    2. Yahoo address book appears to work as advertised until you select "insert addresses "; at that time the address window goes blank and appears to be searching/attempting a process.

    Thanks;

    Ben

    Assuming you imported addresses into Windows Live Mail, check the addresses and verify there's no blank space at beginning or end of said address, or a stray comma.

    I have checked the address several times; deleted and re-entered it manually several times. I have also entered it automatically from emails to no avail.

    any suggestions asto why the yahoo address book hangs up?

    Have you tried the corrected address in a new message?
    Outbox/Pending messages will continue to fail as they contain an error somewhere.

    What is the exact failure message as reported by the mail server?

    My mail client is windows 7/live.com.

    The failure message is:

    This is an automatically generated delivery status notification.
    Delivery to the following recipients failed.

    mprall#directcon.net

    Directcon is a local ISP. I half a dozen or so address that I send to frequently with them with no problems; just this address. I can send email with Yahoo and with Directcons web mail server to this address.

    I believe I have a corrupted address in my Yahoo address book; I will call it a solved problem at the moment.

    Usually the mail server will give reasons for failure or an error code.
