[Inactive] Advertisement windows, in both IE and Firefox,

Greetings all.

I am using Windows XP on a Dell XPS Laptop. I use both IE8 and Firefox. Within the last couple weeks, advertisement windows constantly pop up at me...even when I'm not browsing anything. Even when all browser wndows are closed. Sometimes I'll come back to my laptop only to find like 5 advertisement windows. They are not small pop-up windows. They are full-blown browser windows. I have done thorough Spyware scans on my computer, and this did not resolve the problem. I am at a loss of what else to do.

First of all could you click Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add or Remove Programs and uninstall 'Window Search', 'Window Searching', 'Lop.com', 'LOP SEARCH', 'Browser Enhancer', or 'Ultimate Browser Enhancer' if listed. You may be given a code to insert, do so and reboot when done. If not listed there, run the Lop Remover from:

Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware (http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebytes_Anti-Malware_d5756.html) to your desktop.

* Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.

Download HijackThis Executable from here. Save it to your desktop.
Start HJT & press the "Do a system scan and save a log file" button. When the scan is finished a window will pop up giving you the option of where to save it. Save it to desktop where it is easy to access. Open the log file and then go to the format Tab and make sure that wordwrap is unchecked. Copy the entire contents of the file & paste it into the body of your post. DO NOT FIX ANYTHING YET. Most of what is there is necessary for the running of your system.
