When using Outlook Express, I was able to scan a document and then send it to OE and email it. OE opened automatically after the scan. When I scan a document and send it to WLM, there is no evidence of the scan happening and the scanned document does not appear as an attachment. I'm using a Canon MX320 printer/scanner/fax. I changed the scanner's setting to have the primary email program as WLM. How can I make WLM do the same thing as OE was doing? Thanks.

Can you scan the document and sent it to your desktop and then attach it?

I can attach the scan manually, I just wanted to get WLM to open automatically after the scan was finished.

Create a scanned file. Right click on it and select send to WLM...Does that work?

How do you create a scanned file? Maybe I'm just expecting too much from WLM...but since WLM and OE appear to be very similar, I thought that WLM would operate in the same manner as OE.

In this post you said you can attach the scan mannually:confused:

In theory - the scan software should let you create a scanned file so you can do what ever you want with the file.

Perhaps I'm being difficult about this. I just wanted to know why WLM doesn't open the email page, with the scan attached, like OE does after scanning. All I have to do is simply add the address and subject and send the email. I can manage this way. Thanks for your time on my behalf.

Unfortunately I don't know if any of our regulars are using WLM. If I had I could check, but I moved to Outlook years ago...

Just found out that the Canon MP Navigator that is needed when scanning/emailing can only be configured with OE or Mail (Mac)...bummer!
