going legal with xp pro

    I am going legal, if I can find out how!

    My current XP is a naughty one and I want to go straight. I have my copy of the full install of xp pro waiting.

    The problem is I can find no instructions on how to do this "upgrade" without having to re-install fresh.

    Anyone here know the procedure??

    Run the installation from the CD as you normally would. After you press F8 to agree to the license, setup will look for previous versions of Windows. Select your version, press "R" for "repair" and it will install right over your present installation, leaving 99% of everything intact.
