    Hi,

By mistake I've come into possession of a memory stick that was initially not dedicated to my motherboard (Asus A7V8X). Since the motherboard was made in 2002, the bios version is from 2004, I was wondering if that single memory stick of 1GB DDR2 PC2-6400 could work with my motherboard.

What should I change in the Bios in order to get the new RAM to run? I'd appreciate your help.

This link says DDR Ram. I don't think
    ddr2 will work.

Yep, in fact DDR2 DIMMs won't physically fit in DDR slots
