Hi, this is actually a Moz 1.1 question:
is there an easy way to change the cookie acceptance settings outside of the security preferences window? I'm not talking about the cookie manager (though I may not be aware of how to apply it to do what I'm asking) in the tools menu, which seems limited in its functionality (block or unblock, and it's not capable of "accept" "reject all" or "accept orig. site "). Is there a (free/cheep) add on that will do this? Thanks.

I am not using Mozilla 1.1 but I know you should be able to do a "per site" preference.

Thanks for reply, Antony. Where is this "per site" function? And I would like this function if it existed, to present choices -- allow/don't allow/orig. site only-- each time, to suit the purpose of visiting the site, which may change. For example, I'd like this Moz 1.1 or NS 7 app/menu item to allow me to accept cookies when I want to reply to messages here, or to select it to not accept cookies if I'm just browsing the board. As it is now, it's a multistep pain to go to the prefs-security-cookies-change button each time.

    In Netscape 7.0
Tools | Cookie Manager, then you can see the options (Block Cookies from this site / Unblock Cookies from this site / Manager stored cookies)

mad While appreciating that people take the time to reply, I wonder, ANTONY, if you read my original message. I specifically mentionned that I'd looked at cookie manager & it doesn't work . Yet you gave me the same dumb advice!!!
    javascript:smilie('')
eek! Indmusic, thanks for a suggestion I hadn't tried, I will when I can.

    Sorry!
I thought Block Cookies from this site / Unblock Cookies from this site accessible from the menubar would help.

    That reminds me

The Captain asked the Sergeant if he had change for a dollar. The Sergeant said "Yeah, I think so" and reached for his pocket. The Captain says, "Sergeant don't you realize you should have stood to attention and replied 'Yes, Sir'?" " Now let's try this again. Do you have change for a dollar." Sergeant snapped to attention and replied "No Sir ":D

    larkin,

Your attitude toward Antony is unacceptible on this Forum. You asked for help, and he gave you sound advice. We are all volunteers on this Board, and do so with the best of intentions.

To be given an answer, then call the helper's advice "dumb" is not in your best interest. I believe an apology is in order.

Oh, and did you know, Bill, that Moore (pronounced Moo - err and derived from the Gaelic word "mór" meaning "great ") is an extremely common Manx name? Maybe you're a distant relative of the famous family of kipper curers! :D

Uh oh, they're looooooose! I believe a few of those o's are silent, and I'm not telling which one. ;)

    brett,

Shouldn't you be busy shoring up those security pits in IE/OE, instead of selling Manx Kippers? :p :) ;)

I visited that link brett and I'm proud to be the 16th hit on the site since May of last year. I hope their customer base is much larger. :D I hope this new attention to their site doesn't cause them to gear up and overprepare. I understand Kippers are an endangered species as it is.

I prefer the jugged variety, but I was weaned late.

Zephyr - maybe you'd like to try kipper, apple and onion salad for a change

Ramona - but they make life so much more interesting. Let's face it, browsing with Nutscrape is rather akin to driving at 30 mph: perfectly safe but oh so dull :D

Antony, I did not intend to hurt your feelings, and if they were hurt, I am sorry. Were they indeed hurt?

Had you read my initial post, and if so, why did you feel I needed to be told, again, about the cookie manager, if I had indicated that I knew about it?
    Thank you.

Ramona, I am not into flaming, and was careful not to attack the person, but gave what I thought a moderately gentle opinion on the usefulness of the advice I received. Would "superfluous" rather than the "d-word" been more appropriate?

Also, I am curious as to why some comments are acceptable ( "Nutscrape ", which is a pointed if moderately innocuous opinion from you) and others are not ( "dumb" --again not aimed at a person but at the advice).

    Thank you.
