All right, here's what's going on.
I have two partitions on my system, one of which is running XP, one of which is running Linux Red Hat 8. Now, I wish to format the Linux partition, so I can use it as an extra drive with XP. How do I go about doing this. I am not the person who originally partitioned, and I am rather clueless about the whole thing. I know, though, that the Linux partition is not being recognized by Windows, and that the guy who was helping me, and originally partitioned, does not know what to do.

Any help would be greatly, greatly, greatly (ad nauseam) appreciated.

Read this link > Using Fdisk and Format
Delete the non dos partition or extended partition. Then create the extended, then create the logical in the extended. Reboot then format. Be sure you are formatting D: and not C:.

    Thanks!

Actually, the guy who was helping me wound up stumbling across the program that seemed to work. It wasn't Fdisk, oddly, but it did what was required. So, all seems to have worked out well. Thank you very much, in any case!!
