Last week I set up a network for some friends of mine and successfully got the printer to print from the laptop via wireless connection. 2 days later they installed office 2010 beta on the laptop and lost connection to the networked printer. I went back and uninstalled Office 2010 and tried every trick I knew to get the connection back but to no avail. Even when we get the printer installed it appears offline all the time. I have checked the settings for the printer to make sure it is shared and not offline on the main computer and all is good. Both computers are running Vista Home Premium and are updated. I did a system restore on the laptoip to see if that would reset the settings before Office 2010 beta and that didn't even work. Thanks in adavance for your help:)

Where is the printer connected? To a router/switch or to another computer? If connected to a computer then go to that comp and put the printer online (rt click printer icon > online).

Thanks for your reply. The Printer is connected to another computer and is set to online but will not appear so on the laptop.

Delete the printer on the laptop, then reinstall it using drivers from the cd or desktop. Office probably modified the driver.

Have tried that too, to no avail. I thought the same thing, that office had modified the drivers somehow thus I did the restore back before Office 2010 was installed which didn't help either :(

Try installing it directly via cable to the laptop and see if works. If OK, uninstall it and then try again as networked to the desktop.

    Tony,

So sorry it has taken so long to get back and reply. I did what you
suggested and it worked fine but still appeared offline after reconnecting
    to
main desktop computer. Did the uninstall thing again and reconnected to
main computer and it worked fine. Thanks for your help.
