A friend asked me to uninstall AOL off her computer. I opened Control Panel and couldn't find AOL 9.0 which is the current software she is using to access AOL mail. I found several AOL extras which I was able to uninstall with no problem.

I installed CCleaner thinking I could use Tools to uninstall AOL 9.0 in that manner. Didn't show up in that list either. Any idea where I could find it listed and how I could uninstall it?

When you say Control Panel-> do you mean Add/Remove Programs within Control Panel?

Whiskeyman - Thanks for the link. It looks like it will have what I need to get rid of AOL. I won't be able to try it for a couple of days but will let you know how I make out.

Steve - Sorry about that. Yes I meant that AOL 9.0 doesn't appear in the Add/Remove Programs within the Control Panel. The AOL Uninstaller is there but it is blank - nothing to select to uninstall.

    Whisky Man and Steve,

My friend has decided to try to exist with AOL rather than to go through the uninstall process. I activated her Outlook Express and have the AOL e-mail coming into it. She seems happy with that arrangement. Thanks for your input and I have the anti-AOL website bookmarked in case she changes her mind. I will mark this thread as resolved.
