[Deleted messages "reappear" in Outlook 2007]

I've just downloaded Outlook 2007 and imported my files and addresses from Outlook Express6.... (I have not removed O/Express I want to see how I get on with O/2007). I transfered over 500 messages to my Inbox and spent ages reading and deleting them all yesterday. My Inbox showed "empty" when I shut down. Today, they were all there in my Inbox again, as well new messages received overnight.

Anyone any idea what's happening here and what I can do. Thank you.

 

Having not received any suggestions.... I tried "repair" from the Office Standard 2007.. still the message kept reappearing in my inbox after deleting. I then went the whole hog and removed OS 2007 completely. I re-installed and was surprise that all my contacts and messages (that I previously transferred from Outlook Express) where still there and nearly 1000 messages started downloading to my Inbox again. This really has me baffled

 

Try this:

Outlook 2007 – Tools – Account Settings – email – Open your mail account (dbl click it) – more settings – Advanced – and finally - - uncheck: Leave a copy of messages on the server.

If that doesn’t work one other thing to look at.

Outlook 2007 – keyboard shortcut time (Ctrl-Alt –S) – open your accounts group- and check: is download complete item incl attachments checked?

 

Well that seemed to work today for a while then back to re-appearing in my inbox.... just checked and leaving a copy of messages on the server was (back to) checked... I unchecked it again and deleted my inbox and will see what happens from hereon.
