Here's a new one -- A second mail Account

I have DSL w/Ameritech.net.
I have the Netscape Messenger N/S7 mail and the email account name "xxxx@ameritech.net "

How do I setup a second account under the Ameritech.net?

I emailed them and they don't support the messenger email.

I consulted N/S 7 help, no help.

I have 5 email accounts with DSL/Ameritech, so how do I set up another account with N/S 7?

 

I'm pretty sure you want to run Profile Manager. (found in the start menu with Netscape) And create a new profile and setup an email account for this profile.

you should be able to go to edit-
mail and newsgroup settings-
add account

Here's my next question: How much space (HD space) does I have w/Netscape Messenger Mail (or Outlook Express) mail? According to Ameritech.net,

Is this email space stored on MY hard drive? Where is the 20 MB space stored?

Now, next question, if the space is ON MY HARD drive does that mean I need a 20 MB Hard drive? How does this stuff work?

 

No, this space is not stored on your hard drive. That is the amount of space you have on the mail server. You can store as much mail on your hard drive as you like, or until you run out of space

Okay, so I'm saving the stored messages to Ameritech's mail server.
That means they have control over the messages stored; right? They can trash them when they want to; right?
How do I save it to my hard drive? Do I create a folder and save it in that folder?

If that's the case, it's better to move my email to Ameritech.net than have it on Hotmail, Yahoo because their limit is 2MB & 4MB.

 

No. They will stay on Ameritech's server until you download them, then they will be on your hard drive.

I doubt anything like that would happen. When you download your mail, your messages will not reside on their server, and will be on your hard drive (by way of Netscape).

Definately, since with Ameritech your mail will be downloaded to your hard drive, while with hotmail/yahoo the mail stays on their mail server. Hotmail (with a free account) will even close your account after 30 days of inactivity.

Any mail that you have dowloaded with your email program resides on your hard drive, unless you delete it. Be sure to make backups if your mail is important to you.
