Resolved Secunia says one thing, MS Update says another

Secunia just e-mailed me their latest version and I ran a scan. It reported that I needed KB972270. When I went to MS Update to get it, MS said my system didn't need any updates. Who's right, MS or Secunia?

(I'm running Win7 Home Premium x64 that came installed on a one-month-old Dell desktop. When I ran Belarc Advisor, it showed that the KB item in question was not present on my system.)

 

Did you click on "check for updates" in MS Update? I got the same info from Secunia. When I checked Windows update in Vista, it said I was uptodate, but when I clicked on "check for updates ", it found the KB972270 and also an update for the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool.

 

You're absolutely right! It worked, and I got three updates -- the Malicious Software Removal Tool, an MS Office update, and the KB972270 file I initially mentioned. Thanks for the reply. I'll mark this problem as Resolved now.

Later: Rechecking the downloads, it turns out the one I thought was for MS Office was actually for MS Outlook. I don't use Outlook, and if I'm not mistaken I don't even have it installed. That may be why MS Update didn't think I needed it. Why it didn't think I needed the Malicious Software Removal Tool and the KB972270 updates, though, is an mystery.
