Microsoft Works.

In my last computer running Microsoft XP, installed was Microsoft Works 6.
Now using a better spec computer with Windows 7 installed, no longer can I install MS Works 6.
I have tried to locate a copy of I believe is MS Works 9, is this software now removed from sale?
Present computer had installed a watered version of Works ? or rather could be said as purely advertising what can be achieved but nothing else.
Certainly Microsoft Shop does not stock MS Works 9.

 

Hello PeteC, thanks for information and like yourself require the datbase and writing the odd letter, though MS Word Pad is sufficient for my letter writing.
I am not an OEM person and certainly MS does not approve people buying or obtaining OEM software, as I have found often that updates fail to work properly with OEM versions.
According to my reading the MS web site on Works, version 8 seems to have several updates and patches.
I will certainly try eBay and Amazon for Works offers.

 

Thank you for your assurances on Works 9 OEM version, this I will keep in mind, especially the price difference.
