I am going to need some time though I will Format and reload soon but instead of installing xp home SP2 i will be using SP3 to minimize updates and than i will also again install the 2 update drivers that i downloaded,

i have a question is it possible that my raid drivers may cause problems? i downloaded the latest version of that for my mother board as well but it only extract it doesn not install so i dont know where to copy and replace it

"...it doesn't install" Do you need to go to where the files are extracted and run the Setup.exe? You may need to uninstall any previous drivers or "RAID utility" first, look in Add or Remove Programs. I doubt RAID drivers will need to be updated, unless your HDDs are in a RAID configuration. I would expect the RAID drivers on the original drivers disk should be fine and actually, the download might be the same version as the original, that's why it won't install. One other possibility is that different versions of the same motherboard may have a different RAID controller installed, be careful that you haven't selected the drivers for the wrong controller. Have you looked in Device Manager for how the RAID controller is listed?

Let us know the make and model of the motherboard if you want us to investigate.

Have you looked at the BIOS upgrades for the motherboard? You might want to consider it if you are going to to reformat again. A BIOS upgrade is not hard, just follow the directions very carefully (make certain it is the correct upgrade for your motherboard model and revision).

I have just come across something that might be of interest. I have just had some trouble installing a game. The error was for the same DirectX file mentioned in your information. I installed DirectX from the game's disk and it started working.

There is one more thing that i need to test that i just have noticed. have a Z-Board and i have noticed that when i play X3 counter strike, sup com the game kicks out why i say this i took my pc to my work shop and used the work shops mouse and keyboard and X3 run just fine, so i think it might be my keyboard that is going.i will do futher more tests to confirm this.

Right. I have not formated instead I did the following that seems to have solved the problem. What I did is, I re installed Dx 9R after that my pc asked to reboot:D and that allready gave my a very good sign that DX did overwrite this time, as well i uninstalled my Zboard drivers that was also unstable and giving me problems and went buying a new keyboard now everything seems to be working in good order.

I think I am going to mark this post as solved and should I come across any problems i will just start a new post.

Thank you all for all your time and helping :)

    kind regards
