installed belkin54g router and trying to get my other computer connected
the router is connected (router symbol blue) but somehow I managed to
mess something up because when I try to connect to the internet (DSL) broadband, no connection
when I try to edit the setting:
Profile name: what goes there? ( I typed in the pass word used for DSL)
    Network name: belkin54g
    Authentication: WPA-PSK
    Input Method: TKIP
KEY: what goes in this field ?

I think if I would put the correct information in these fields, I could connect up My DSL = Bellsouth.net I log in to that with my email @bellsouth.net and the password

    Would appreciate any help

So isn't the Westel already doing the DSL authentication and routing?

When you connect your PC directly to the Westel do you get internet?
Also, when you connect your PC to the Westel what address do you get?
    192.168.1.x?

    Scott,
    please read my original question...

I have internet on my computer via DSL and the router appears to be working fine
since the router symbol on the computer I am trying to connect to the internet via the westell is color blue (connected w/ antennaes wiggling) and strong signal

but the router edit box, as I outlined above has 4 fields which require data and two of these fields I am not sure if my input is correct one is the profile: what goes in there?
the other is KEY: I have no clue on that

    any suggestion?

    Thanks for your time

Profile - Name for this set of parameters - ie: 'jumbo'
Key - if you choose to use WPA-PSK security, you can set up to a 256 character password for the router.

    thanks for the clarification...

therefore whatever I put in these two fields should not have an effect on the router
linking the host computer to the internet on the main computer, or do I see it wrong?

You are connecting 2 routers together and will have problems unless you setup the Westell in Bridged Mode and let the Belkin do the connection authentication. Or setup the Belkin solely as an Access Point and let the Westell handle the connection and routing.

There are 2 different authentications: 1 for connecting to your DSL provider and another for connection to the wireless access point. The Belkin can handle both or just the wifi.
