    Hi Gents,

I've found that several icons that used to appear on my tray (icon next to clock) at system startup went missing e.g sound, yahoo messenger, antivirus, Bluetooh, Wireless Manager etc. I've checked preference setting for each of my favourite icons that went missing and they are set as it is (icon notification to display on system startup). I've restarted my computer few times and still seeing the same problem.

    thanks

    myfama,

On the right of your Taskbar (tray) do you see a < that is in a blue circle ?
If you click on it it will show you the Hidden Icons.

Also if you Right Click on the Task Bar (tray) then click properties is there a check in Hide inactive icons ? If you uncheck it and Press OK this will not hide your inactive Icons.

I don't see one. 'Hide Inactive Icons' box is always unchecked. Is this something to do with virus infection since my antivirus, volume, power are currently running or enabled but the icon are not appears on the tray.

I would suggest running you antivirus software to see if you have a virus.

If you have a spyware program installed on your computer, run that also.

I've performed scanning on my machine and still the problem remains and no virus is detected. Is there any other method I can apply in order to fix this problem? My PC also running so slow at loading the windows since few days ago.

I got my problem resolved by goggling existing post as follows:

    Copy and paste this...

    taskkill /f /im explorer.exe

    explorer.exe

Into Command prompt, both exactly how it is above and press enter

sp3851..thank you anyway for your kindness to help
