    I'm looking on http://www.softwareandstuff.com/ for a motherboard.

I'm mainly going to use it for website design and games. Are they any good? And do you know if it can be overclocked?

    Hi Lee,

Visit www.jetway.com.tw and see if their current products suggest that their older (and surplus) products may meet your needs. They write they have been in business for fiften years.
My reservation is your inclusion of "gaming" and "overclocking ".
I have found that the savings on older product has been shrinking
and when you can buy a whole new computer here in the States for about $300.00 you have to have a really sharp pencil to make sure the savings you realize are worth the compromise in performance you are making.

    Good Luck

Don't mean to be negative but why would you even consider a Jetway when there are other, better mobo mfrs. that make higher quality products that can be found just as affordable.

And your choice of vendor, no offense intended, kind of gives me the creeps. Their new title is "Surplus Computers ". Here's excerpts from 2 of the first 4 comments about this vendor at www.resellerratings.com:
    And the bad reviews continue.

The budget board I'm currently considering for a friend's new box is the Biostar M7VIP. It's only $63 (at newegg) and can take up to an XP2600+. That's better than my rig and I consider myself a bit of a power user.

Quality boards can be found for very affordable prices. If pressed I could probably come up with several good suggestions for under $75 if you're interested in hearing my opinions.

Good move Chiles. ALWAYS check with Resellerratings.com before buying any computer gear. There are plenty of vendors out there that are less than honest.

Lee: As for your choice of MoBo... To put it bluntly it stinks. Buy a name brand first tier MoBo. I only buy ASUS. They make a good product that is easy to over-clock (and that seems to be important to you). Gigabyte also makes good boards. I am not too familiar with Biostar, but I haven't heard anything bad about them.

Remember: you might save a few bucks now, but end up paying for it later in lost time and productivity.

I have two computers netwotked. One of them has a jetway v266b motherboard. The other an asus A7V333. Installing games, such as the sims, on the asus is no problem, but if I install them on the Jetway I get errors and they wont play. I can get round this by putting the Harddrive from the Jetway on the ASus, installing the games, put the harddrive back on the Jetway and then the games play. This method is unsatisfactory. The only extra I have installed on the Jetway is a network card, but even this wasnt on until recently.
I have the latest bios for the Jetway. I am going to take the whole computer back to the retailer who sold me the mobo so he can have a look at the problem. He has said it may be conflicting with unbranded memory. I have 512 ddr 2100. I have tried two different graphics cards, Kyro 11 and ati 9000 pro.
Lee Im sorry if this has put you off the Jetway, but to anyone else any suggestions before I spend money with the retailer would be welcome.
    thanks
    Steve

the problem was unbranded memory. as soon as I put different memory in from my other computer the games installed and played straight away.

I agree with Hex92, ASSUS is very good (not just on motherboards).
By the way what u guys think of QDI boards?
I prefer assus, but i have some experience with QDI boards and they've worked fine for me (QDi is cheaper than ASSUS)
