Q: How many WBBS members does it take to change a light bulb?

    A: 1,331:

1 to change the light bulb and to post on the forums that the light bulb has been changed.
14 to share similar experiences of changing light bulbs and how the light bulb could have been changed differently.
7 to caution about the dangers of changing light bulbs.
27 to point out spelling/grammar errors in posts about changing light bulbs.
53 to flame the spell checkers.
156 to write to Arie complaining about the light bulb discussion and its inappropriateness to this forum.
41 to correct spelling in the spelling/grammar flames.
109 to post that this site is not about light bulbs and to please take this exchange to alt.lite.bulb
203 to demand that cross posting to alt.grammar, alt.spelling and alt.punctuation about changing light bulbs be stopped.
111 to defend the posting to this forum saying that we all use light bulbs and therefore the posts are relevant to this forum.
306 to debate which method of changing light bulbs is superior, where to buy the best light bulbs, what brand of light bulbs work best for this technique, and what brands are faulty.
27 to post URLs where one can see examples of different light bulbs.
14 to post that the URLs were posted incorrectly, and to post corrected URLs.
3 to post about links they found from the URLs that are relevant to this thread which makes light bulbs relevant to this thread.
33 to concatenate all posts to date, then quote them including all headers and footers, and then add "Me Too. "
12 to post to the list that they are unsubscribing because they cannot handle the light bulb controversy.
19 to quote the "Me Too's" to say, "Me Three. "
4 to suggest that posters request the light bulb FAQ.
1 to propose new alt.change.lite.bulb newsgroup.
47 to say this is just what alt.physic.cold_fusion was meant for, so leave it there.
    143 votes for alt.lite.bulb.

    I like this, jpChris.

I would not, at this point, go other than compact fluorescents. They have come into their own for sure.:)

Tho no way do they lead to real enLIGHTenment or the kind of of illumination we need and you are really addressing, alas..:(

Jeez, then it's almost as old as I am, glad you finally found a 35yr old story to tell though :D

In saying that replace posters with Directors, Managers & Secretaries and posts with Memos I can imagine it's a lot older that that ;)

What , Usenet is only 30 years old mate, is medical services over there that bad?

I'm staying home, the NHS may be bad but at least we've got pensioners :)

(Was that a huge sigh of relief I heard from Chas there?) :D

Medical services are great; if you can afford them, that is. And, yes, we have pensioners, too — if you mean retirees and those on the dole.

Uh, you forgot the time zone thingy. :D And since I haven't changed the battery in my watch for about three years now, the time is Atomic Clock accurate twice a day! So, there! :p

It all depends where your located and what day it is. I think it's Saturday, but I'm really not sure.

:confused:What day of the week is it anyway ?

    Star Date -312995.6008688482

    :)Live long and procrastinate.

I haven't changed the battery in my watch either. It's dead and doesn't run.
Retired people don't need watches, clocks or such. :p
My wife tells me the time, where to go, and alot of other things.:D

    Hi sp3851,

Where to start, where to start:
I was going to be a procrastinator, but I never got around to it. :p However, I am running for the 1996 presidency of our local Procrastinators Club chapter. Ballots should be in the mail sometime eventually.
Good New Year's celebration, eh? :D
sp3851, I don't know you or the type of person you are, but, I do know it's extremely cruel to throw me a straight line like that in a public forum! ;)

    Hi jpChris,

Lets see if I can discribe myself:

I'm kinda tall, short, handsome, ugly - have long straight short kniky hair, blind in one eye and can't see out of the other.
I say huh alot because my hearing is 20/20 or is that 50/50. I can not remember.
One leg is shorter then the other so I can only walk up hills on good days and then back down on bad days.
I can't walk on water unless its frozen, if I do I sink like a rock.
I have so much gas, I'm not down to earth.
I stand out in a crowd because the limb is so short.
Hair color is brown, gray, black with a auburn tinge.
Where ever I'm at, there I am.
If I'm not there, I'm some place else.
I'm either an Optimist or a Pessimist
If the glass is half full then there is 6.
If the glass is half empty then is 1/2 dozen.
My arms only reach as far as they go.
Dogs or cats will not come near me because I lost the porkchop.
My dad taught me how to swim, the only problem was getting out of the burlap bag.
I need to take my shoes off to count past 10 then that only gets me to 22.
I can not afford to change my mind, or direction.
What goes up always comes down on me.:D

    Hope that helps.....
