Hi, i have been trying to fix locked files and read only problems in windows 7 and have somehow locked myself out of the C drive. When i click on the drive i get the message "location is not available , C\is not accessible, access is denied ". When i right click on properties, security, continue , i get - "cant open access control editor. access is denied ". When i right click properties, sharing, adv. settings i get 'your administrator has blocked you from running this program ". I am still able to run programs which have icons on the desk top. I am unable to restore in normal or safe mode. hope someone can help . Thanks

Well, seems you have really messed things up. Bite the bullet, format & reinstall.

    Start here .....

Windows 7 - System Recovery Options

If you have a retail install DVD - OEM may be the same - boot from it making a Custom instal and delete the existing C:\ partition and recreate.
