real player installation

when i am trying to install realplayer i am getting error message at end of installation which says "Shell executable of Setup program has encountered a problem and needs to close "
i am using Windows XP professional SP3

Here is a link to a Microsoft web site telling what might be causing the problem.

Shell executable of Setup program has encountered a problem and needs to close

I'd rather be a failure at something I enjoy than be a success at something I hate.

Of course I know all the answers. I just don't always match the answers to the right questions.

Sorry sp3851, but you are linking to: RealPlayer or RealJukebox Causes an Error Message in Windows XP and the error mentioned by amar isn't addressed in that article.

amar, I'd suggest re-downloading the setup files from a trusted location.

If the error continues, consider posting Malware log(s) in the Malware and Virus Removal forum.
