I have Windows XP installed in disk 0 partition C: and Windows 7 in disk 1 partition S:
Using EasyBCD I erased XP from the boot list
Disk Manager still says that C: is "System, Active, Primary" and that S: is "Boot, Page File, Active, Crash Dump, Primary "
The computer is booting without any problem to S:
    Can I format C: ? I intend to keep Windows 7 only.
And after that, can I change the partition letter from S: to C:
Thanks for any assistance, partitions scare me!

If you plan on just running Win 7? Then just reinstall win 7 on to the C: drive, that is after reformating it to insure a clean install. I would also reformat the S partition prior to reinstalling Win7. What I don't understand is why you have a S partition, or do you have more then one HD or one with several partitions. Somthing else, if you're scared of partitions, any thing that mods the boot sector should be Extream Fear. I don't what to sound rude, but it just sound fun to be scared of partition and not mods to the boot sectors.

    Hi jrealing
Thanks for your comments. Please read my original message again and notice that I have two hd, one with C:, D: and E: partitions and a second with S: partition. To avoid problems with partitions and consequently with boot sectors I intend to follow paertially what you suggested, I'll format drive C:, copy partition S: to C: and then format S:. Thanks again

    Hi oldSailor
Just wondering, Ive just got back in to building and mods. Its been several year! I was a win98se shoot me to stop me form using it kinda person. Now I need to learn XP (love it!) very short term (in other word I really don't know any thing), I was running the prelease of win7 which I Now have the full version, I got it for xmas. I quit playing with computer about 7 years ago, my present one is a new build. As well as I just now having a 2% understanding of win XP, zero on win7. It would be nice to include your sys. Specs.
