No software available for windows 7 for this mouse. just updated from XP to windows 7.

need to disable the side buttons - they get hit accidently FAR too often, and i lose what i was doing. (they go 'back' or 'forward' as if hitting browser buttons)

    Any way to fix this?

and please, dont tell me to get a new mouse. I'd like a practical solution to still use this mouse with windows 7 and be happy with it.

any ideas? software someone besides logitech has made?? something? thanks.

Are there VISTA drivers? If so try them.

Actually, i thought of (about 20 minutes after making a post about it), and just tried downloading and running the software in compatibility mode for XP. seems to be working so far!

According to Microsoft's Windows 7HCL list this mouse is compatible (32-bit).

    Software should be here.

Since it only lists Vista, use the Vista driver.

    Ive found a new problem...

I installed the software in the first place to disable the back & forward buttons that always get hit accidently (in a situation like this board, losing all of my typing). that works

but i noticed everytime after restarting, i have to re-set the number of scroll lines within the mouse properties. why doesnt it remember that I set it to 3 instead of 1? especailly if it does remember that i disabled those buttons?

the control panel, and my logitech program (shortcut on desktop) bring up the exact same window with the exact same tabs (i tried once to fix it in both places).

    anyone have any solutions?

ive done some googling, and some people had to disable SOMETHING.exe in the startup msconfig area - some file that was not running on my system in the first place. only AVG and logitech software show as running at startup. so thats not it.

what else is there to try??

I wouldn't know. That's probably what you have to do if you wanna keep using that mouse with Win7.
