    hi guys.

    the issue is this -

me and my friend want to communicate using SKYPE while playing COD:MW2 but we have a problem - He can hear the sound coming out of my computer through his speakers.
even if i mute my speakers it happens which means that i transmit the sound somehow. maybe its skype's option that i should disable or something. i dont know how to stop this from happening.

i dont think the sound is coming from my MIC's connection since it happens even when the speakers are OFF or MUTED but my friend thinks it an issue with the mic's settings: i muted the following bars - the CD volume, line volume or stereo mix but even when i MUTE all of these bars in my REALTEK sound driver i still have this issue.

    anyone?!
    thanks

If you haven't already tried it, on the mic tab, try muting the mic where it says playback volume. Don't know if it will help or not but it won't have any effect on your ability to use the mic. It just mutes the mic so you don't hear it on your speakers when you talk. I have mine muted all the time and never miss it.

thanks for trying to help but oddly enough i DONT have a "playback" slider at all.
and yeah, i do have annoying feedback sounds if i turn up the volume. ouch!

can anyone help? the main issue is the biggest but the no "playback" slider became an issue too once i started using a mic....

thanks for trying to help. and now that u mention it - i dont have a "playback" slider. i always get annoying feedbacks too. maybe that's why.

anyone can advise on how to solve these two issues? especially the 1st one.

Well, if you don't have you mic muted in the playback control and you have you speakers on, you'd certainly get feedback if you were too close to the speakers with the mic. I'm not sure what to tell you. What kind of computer is it? Brand and model. Are you using the drivers that are supplied with windows or are you using those that came with the computer? What OS are you using?

I've attached a screenshot of mine so you can see what I'm talking about. The red arrow points to the setting I'm talking about.
